It contracts the nasal blood vessels, thereby decongesting the lining of the nose and surrounding areas pharynx. It also reduces the associated symptoms of hypersecretion of mucus and facilitates the drainage of blocked secretions. This allows patients with colds to breathe better through the nose.
Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents over 12 years:
XYLOMEX NASAL SPRAY 0.05% / XYLOMEX NASAL SPRAY 0.1% should not be used for more than seven days consecutive. The recommended dose should not be exceeded, especially in children and the elderly. Use 2-4 drops in each nostril, up to 3 times per day as needed. Do not exceed 3 applications per day in each nostril. It is recommended to make the last application shortly before going to bed.
Children:
Child from 2 to 6 years old under the supervision of parents: 1 to 2 drops in each nostril 1 to 3 times a day.
Children from 6 to 12 years old: 2 to 4 drops in each nostril 2 to 3 times a day. The time interval between 2 administrations must be between 8 and 10 hours. Do not exceed 3 applications per day in each nostril. It is recommended to make the last application shortly time before going to bed. XYLOMEX NASAL SPRAY 0.1% should not be used in children under 12 years old.
